Limited Magic Empty
PostSubject: Limited Magic   Limited Magic I_icon_minitimeSun Jun 08, 2014 7:06 am

The following magics are limited to a certain amount of players due to their high power and desirability.

Celestial Spirit (0/12)

Celestial Spirit magic is a form of summoning magic which involves the usage of Keys to call forth astral beings (typically named after the Constellations.) There are three types of keys; Gold, Silver and Bronze (in decreasing rarity.) Gold keys are the Canon 12 Zodiac symbols; each celestial spirit mage may have 1 gold key, as they are the most powerful. Silver keys are the keys which are non-canon or non-zodiac, but may still be used in battle. Bronze keys are utility keys; they have abilities which may provide advantages in certain situations, but cannot damage a living target in any way, shape or form.

Each purchased/obtained key starts at D-rank, with the exception of Gold keys (they are purchased and start at C-rank.) To rank said key up, you must complete a rank-specific key training which requires the player to be at a certain rank, and to create a topic containing a minimum rank-specific word count. Rank-up prerequisites are detailed here:

D TO C RANK: No caster rank prerequisite, 500 words
C TO B RANK: Caster must be at B-ranked at least, 1000 words
B TO A RANK: Caster must be A-ranked at least, 1500 words
A TO S RANK: Caster must be S-ranked at least, 2000 words
S TO SS RANK: Caster must be S-ranked at least, 4000 words

Every time a celestial spirit gate is opened, the user pays a rank-specific cost in Mana. For each post the celestial spirit is in battle or active, the user pays a rank-specific cost in Mana as well. The way this is scaled is listed here:

D-RANK BRONZE: 10 to open, 5 per post sustain
D-RANK SILVER: 15 to open, 5 per post sustain
C-RANK BRONZE: 15 to open, 5 per post sustain
C-RANK SILVER: 20 to open, 10 per post sustain
C-RANK GOLD: 30 to open, 15 per post sustain
B-RANK SILVER: 30 to open, 15 per post sustain
B-RANK GOLD: 40 to open, 20 per post sustain
A-RANK SILVER: 40 to open, 20 per post sustain
A-RANK GOLD: 50 to open, 30 per post sustain
S-RANK GOLD: 60 to open, 30 per post sustain
SS-RANK GOLD: 75 to open, 40 per post sustain

Dragon Slayer (0/6)

Now that you have all the boring other limited magic crap down, it's time to go over (epic gasp) Dragon slayer magic rules! Now, as you know, Slayers are known to be able to consume their own element in and out of battle with no harm done to their bodies. This is an incredibly amazing skill and I- Oh no! I digress; back to eating. A Dragon slayer may NOT eat every same element attack that comes their way. What they can and cannot eat depends on the delicacy spell's rank. Buffs that eating spells offer also depend on the rank of the player and the rank of the spell. Allow me to detail this here.

Player eats lower-ranked spell: Buff is applied, no malignant side effects.
Player eats same-ranked spell: Buff is applied, but the player receives stomach cramps and feels a burning pain in his abdomen.
Player eats spell one rank higher: Buff is not applied, player feels significant burning in abdomen and significant stomach cramps.
Player eats spell two ranks higher: Buff is not applied, player feels significant burning in abdomen and cramps (same as above.) However, he now finds breathing difficult and is struck by distracting headaches.
Player eats spell three ranks higher: Buff not applied, player receives all effects from above, movement and body abilities reduced by 30%.
Player eats spell four ranks higher: Player is knocked unconscious.

An exception to this is X-rank spells; they CANNOT be eaten. Doing so results in the effect of the character eating a spell four ranks higher than his own.

Now let's look at buffs you gain for eating spells, by spell rank.

D-rank: Recover 10 Mana
C-rank: Recover 20 Mana
B-rank: Recover 30 Mana
A-rank: Recover 50 Mana, take 1 rank less damage from next incoming spell
S-rank: Recover 100 Mana, take 2 ranks less damage from next incoming spell
SS-rank: Recover 150 Mana, take 3 ranks less damage from next incoming spell

Requip (0/8)
Takeover (0/8)[center]

Requip mages are the knights of the wizard world. Rather than casting spells, their magic gives them the ability to store various magical armors, weapons and clothing in a pocket dimension. This apparel can be called upon and equipped magically during a battle, granting users optimal versatility. Likewise, Takeover mages are the shapeshifters of the wizard world. Their magic allows them to assume the forms of various non-human sentient creatures. Since these magics are somewhat similar, the rules which apply to them are the same, depending on circumstance.

[center]Full-body Forms

A full-body form is an armor in the case of a requip mage; Takeover mages cannot access full-body forms until the A-rank level of their spells.
